Paul Cayard
Paul Pierre Cayard (born May 19, 1959 in San Francisco ) is an American sailor who has participated in many sailing competitions. These include five America's Cup participations, the Volvo Ocean Race and two participations in the Olympic Games . He won seven world titles in sailing. In 1998 he was named Rolex Yachtsman of the Year. In 2002 he was elected to the Sailing World Hall of Fame.
After a few years without participating in the America's Cup , Paul Cayard is now signed up as skipper and helmsman for the Spanish team Desafío Español .
In 2007 he founded the World Sailing League with Russell Coutts and João Lagos .
