Paul Debes
Paul Debes (born September 8, 1906 in Elberfeld , † June 6, 2004 in Bindlach ) was one of the pioneers of the spread of Buddhism in Germany , author and teacher. In 1948 he founded the "Buddhist Seminar", which has been publishing the two-month publication "Knowledge and Change" since 1955. Paul Debes was a co-founder and board member of the "Buddhist Society Hamburg" in 1954, and in 1955 he was involved in the founding of the "German Buddhist Society", today's " German Buddhist Union ".
