Paul Dolan (2013)

Paul Dolan (born May 10, 1968 in London ) is a British psychologist. He is Professor at the Institute for Psychological and Behavioral Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science , which he has been Head of Department since 2017.

Live and act

Paul Dolan received his Bachelor of Science degree from Swansea University in 1989, his Master's degree from the University of York in 1991 and his D.Phil there in 1997.

His main research interests include economic happiness research (cf. subjective well-being ), behavioral economics and public policy .

In 2002 he won the Philip Leverhulme Prize for his contributions to health economics, in particular for his work on the QALY concept.

For a time he was a member of the "Behavioral Insights Team" of the British Cabinet, which advises the government on the implementation of behavioral research concepts in business and politics. In the course of this (see Nudge movement) he created the Mindspace concept as a catalog of measures for policy advice in the areas of health, finance and climate change.
