The Academia General del Aire (AGA) is the officer's school with academic training for the Spanish Air Force . It was founded in 1945 and is located at Murcia-San Javier Airport in San Javier ( Murcia region ).

As of 2006, the basic requirement for admission to the Academia General del Aire - as well as for the Academia General Militar - is a secondary school diploma ( Bachiller ) from an Instituto de Educación Secundaria or an equivalent qualification (see Abitur ). Those who have successfully passed the state university entrance examination in Spain ( Selectividad ) can then start studying for several years leading to a Diplomatura (equivalent to a Bachelor's degree ) . Furthermore, the applicants must not be older than 23 years and must have passed their own examination for officer applicants.

The Academia General del Aire is a member of the European Air Force Academies (EUAFA).
