Paul Dundas

Paul Dundas (born May 23, 1952 ) is a British Indologist at the University of Edinburgh and there head of Asian Studies . His work focuses on classical Sanskrit literature and Middle Indian linguistics . With his work on Jainism , he is considered one of the leading researchers in this field worldwide. He heads the Pali Text Society .

His current occupations (as of 2012) include the translation of the Shishupala Vadha from Magha , an annotated translation of Yaśovijayas Dvatrimsaddvatrimsika , a study of the historical representation of the mantra Pancanamaskara with reference to Yaśovijaya's Arhadgita and a systematic presentation of the texts by Haribhadra Suri .
