Paul Fechner

Paul Fechner (born January 2, 1894 in Spandau , † August 29, 1973 in West Berlin ) was a German educator and local politician ( SPD ) in Berlin .

Life

Fechner became a teacher at the community school , where he stayed until the National Socialists dissolved it. He joined the SPD at a young age. In his political work he also met his wife, the later politician Margarete Fechner , née Fast. Married since 1922, he had two children with her.

After the Second World War , Paul Fechner became a school councilor, education councilor from 1946 to 1951 and deputy district mayor of Spandau from 1949 to 1951 . From 1951 to 1959 he was a West Berlin state school supervisor. From 1958 to 1967 Fechner was district councilor in Spandau.
