Paul Günther (politician)

Paul Günther (born November 18, 1899 in Hückeswagen ; † January 30, 1967 ) was a German politician and member of the CDU state parliament .

Life and work

After attending elementary school , he completed a locksmith training and worked in a cloth factory. Günther became a union member in 1918 and a member of the CDU in 1946. He was a co-founder of the CDU in Hückeswagen and was active in numerous party bodies.

MP

On August 29, 1949, he was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament in the first by - election and replaced the deceased MP Bruno Braun . Until July 20, 1962 Günther was a member of the He was directly elected in constituency 049 Oberer Rhein-Wupper-Kreis and Rhein-Wupper-Kreis-Ost.

He was a member of the city council of Hückeswagen from 1946 and was mayor from 1946 to 1954 .
