Paul Gerhard von Puttkamer (* 1866 in Stolp ; † November 17, 1941 in Hanover ) was a German officer , theater director and writer .

Live and act

Paul Gerhard Freiherr von Puttkamer began his officer career in Hanover in 1886 with the 73rd Infantry Regiment, of which he belonged until 1894. From 1903 to 1906 he took part in the Waldersee expedition as a company commander. After he had said goodbye out of health considerations, he had been working in the management of the court theater in Stuttgart since 1909 and was entrusted with the management of what was then the Royal Theater in Hanover in 1911. He held it until January 1, 1920, when the theater became the property of the City of Hanover.
