Paul Hans Tobler

Paul Hans Tobler (born April 11, 1923 in St. Gallen ; resident in St. Gallen) is a Swiss locksmith , metal worker and industrial entrepreneur.

Life

Paul Hans Tobler is a son of Paul Tobler, owner of the locksmith's shop Traugott Tobler & Sohn and Luise Engler, founded in 1836. In 1949 he married Alice Giger, daughter of Emil Giger. He completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith in Bern . In 1941 he joined his father's metalworking shop. In 1946 he converted the company into the limited partnership Paul Tobler & Compagnie. From 1946 to 1982 he was the sole owner of the company. In 1957 he initiated a new building in St. Gallen-Winkeln as well as extensions in 1960 and 1974. He promoted St. Gallen-Winkeln as an industrial location. In 1980 he retired from operational business. Tobler developed the locksmith's shop into an industrial company. The company was split up in 1991 into Tobler Stahlbau AG and Tobler Metallbau AG. In 2006 Tobler Stahlbau AG was renamed Tobler Elementa AG. Andreas Tobler leads the company in the fifth generation.
