Paul David Heaton (born May 9, 1962 in Birkenhead , England ) is an English musician.
Live and act
Heaton was the singer of the British indie pop band The Housemartins from 1983 to 1988 , whose songs he wrote with Stan Cullimore. After the end of the Housemartins, Heaton and drummer Dave Hemingway formed the follow-up band The Beautiful South in 1988 , which broke up in 2007. Heaton wrote the pieces together with David Rotheray. In 2001 Heaton's solo album was released under the title Fat Chance , which he first published under the name Biscuit Boy . His second solo album, The Cross Eyed Rambler , was released in July 2008. In September 2010, Heaton's third solo album, Acid Country, was released .
In 2014, Heaton reunited with Jacqui Abbott , with whom he had sung on The Beautiful South from 1994 to 2000 . With the joint album What Have We Become and the duet they were able to build on the old band popularity and reached number 3 in the British charts. In 2015 the album Wisdom, Laughter and Lines was released , followed by Crooked Calypso in 2017 .
