Paul Holzki
Paul Holzki (born September 26, 1887 in Saadan, Ortelsburg district , East Prussia , † January 26, 1960 in Berlin ) was a German cameraman .
Life
After training as a photographer , he initially practiced this profession before he found film in 1913. He acted as a camera operator and participated in the war from 1916 to 1918 .
He then rose to the position of chief cameraman. He turned primarily entertainment films, including the football movie The Eleven Devils . He worked repeatedly with director Friedrich Zelnik . In 1928/29 he was one of the three cameramen who were responsible for the world's first experimental German sound film Melodie der Welt , followed by the first complete sound film You've loved me .
Then Holzki turned completely to documentary film . At Leni Riefenstahl's Olympia he was part of her large team.
