Paul Jansen

Paul Jansen (* 1950 ) is a retired German civil servant who most recently held the post of Ministerial Director.

Jansen studied economics . After receiving his diploma, he was at the University of Marburg with a thesis on "The Inflation Problem in the centrally planned economy doctorate".

Jansen had worked in the Federal Ministry of Defense since 1989 . At the beginning of 2008 he was appointed head of the budget department, which was restructured in 2012 by Defense Minister Thomas de Maizière to the budget and controlling department. In November 2014, Ursula von der Leyen, the Ministry of Defense, put him into temporary retirement as head of department.
