Paul Kevenhörster (born June 5, 1941 in Schwerte ) is a German political scientist and university professor .

Life

Kevenhörster completed his studies in economics and social sciences at the universities of Bonn, Hamburg and Cologne in 1965 with a degree in economics and in 1966 with a degree in business administration. After further studies at Pennsylvania State University (USA) and Sophia University Tokyo (Japan), he was in 1968 with the dissertation Japan's political system at the University of Cologne Dr. rer. pole. PhD. His habilitation in 1973 at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn with a thesis on the council system as an instrument for controlling political and economic power was followed in 1974 by a call to the TU Braunschweig. Kevenhörster has been a full professor of political science in Münster since 1974, initially at the PH Westfalen-Lippe, and since 1980 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University . From 1982 to 1988 he was curator of the German Foundation for International Development (DSE) in Berlin.
