Paul Kimura ( 20th century - April 2020 ) was an American snooker player who won the United States' snooker championship in 2006 .

Career

In 2006, Kimura, who came from California and trained in a snooker club in San Gabriel , took part in the US snooker championship and reached the semi-finals, in which he surprisingly defeated the second placed Raymond Fung , before beating Romil Azemat in the final became the surprise winner of the tournament with 5: 3. After he did not participate in 2007, he took part in the tournament again in 2008, but was defeated by old master Tom Kollins in the round of 16 . In the same year he was part of the US team at the Can-Am Snooker Challenge , before losing to Yi Fei Mei in the final of the fourth event of the USSA National Snooker Tour in 2009. In 2012 he took part in the US championship for the last time, but was eliminated in the group stage. He died in all likelihood in April 2020; his death was announced by the U.S. federation on April 30, 2020.
