Paul Morzynski

Paul Morzynski (born November 3, 1950 in Hanover ) is a German auditor , tax advisor and entrepreneur.

Life

After completing secondary school , Morzynski initially trained as a tax assistant and worked in this profession for four years. When he was appointed tax agent in 1976 , he started his own business . In 1982 he was appointed tax advisor and in 1994 auditor .

In 1992 Morzynski bought the Halloren chocolate factory from the Treuhandanstalt for the equivalent of around 200,000 euros . From 2001 to 2004 he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Cinemaxx AG, and since 2006 he has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Halloren Schokoladenfabrik AG. Even after the IPO, he remained the largest single investor there.

Morzynski became known to the general public when he bought the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm in August 2013 .

In spring 2014 Morzynski bought Arko GmbH in Wahlstedt .

In December 2014, two families based in North Rhine-Westphalia joined Halloren under the name Charlie Investors. The company withdrew from the stock market after losses in December 2016. In August 2017, Halloren announced that Morzynski had sold his shares to majority shareholder Charlie Investors and was leaving the company. A connection, however, remains through the business relationship between Halloren and Arko.
