From 1974 on he trained as a draftsman, painter and eraser with various artists. From 1971 he stayed in several European and non-European countries for long periods of time and also moved several times in Germany. He then documented stays at Vogelsberg in a series of graphics. He earned his living as a painter, etcher and musician. In 1980 he opened his own gallery in Steinau. He is a member of the SOCSKARGEN artist group in South Cotabato , Philippines. Pfisterer works in oil, mixed media , watercolors, etchings, woodcuts, he creates sculptures and wall paintings. In the field of etching, he developed his own techniques, such Kaltstichel , magnetic etching , Punz and Flex technology . He carried out work for the public space of large companies, banks, hotels and airports, designed calendars and illustrated books.

Pfisterer is considered a master in copying old masters . In connection with the production of art copies and replicas , he developed a painting technique that at first glance looks like painting by old masters. This made it possible for him to paint the Mona Lisa as a demonstration , "as if Leonardo da Vinci had just painted it", fresh in color and with all the techniques, the sfumato and the softness of the depiction that is typical for Leonardo. This painting technique opened up new perspectives for him. According to his vision, it allows the solution of visionary reality, 3D effects and perfect color harmony, fully approximating the color harmony of nature. This painting technique is also an indirect way of painting, as it was practiced by the old masters.
