Life

Roeder spent his youth in Scheidt / Saar , where his father worked for many years as a teacher, headmaster, organist and choir director. After graduating from high school, he studied in Heidelberg and Berlin. During a temporary residence in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, the operetta "Tanja" and the singspiel "Gänsegret" (premiered June 13, 1936 at the Stadttheater Saarbrücken), which tell the story of Countess Catharina von Ottweiler, Duchess of Dillingen and second wife of Prince Ludwig, were created from Nassau-Saarbrücken. Locally specific settings of Lorraine folk songs, a festival for the inauguration of the German Wine Gate and other works were created.

After a creative break caused by the war and the loss of all of his works that were lost while fleeing, he did not succeed in creating a new composition.
