Paul Rosenberger

Paul Rosenberger (born February 25, 1897 in Deutsch Jahrndorf , † December 22, 1981 ibid) was an Austrian farmer and politician ( SPÖ ). He was a member of the Burgenland Landtag and a member of the National Council .

Life

Paul Rosenberger was born as the son of a small housekeeper Matthias Rosenberger from Deutsch-Jahrndorf and grew up with his brother Hans Rosenberger . He attended elementary school and subsequently worked as a farm worker and farmer in Deutsch-Jahrndorf. He completed his military service between 1915 and 1918.

Rosenberger became involved in the Social Democratic Labor Party after the World War. Rosenberger was elected district party leader of the Social Democratic Workers' Party in the Neusiedl am See district in 1927 and was also a member of the state party executive and state party control. Rosenberger was a member of the Burgenland Landtag between May 20, 1927 and February 12, 1934, but lost his mandate following the ban on the Social Democratic Workers' Party after the February fighting was suppressed. As a result, Rosenberger was imprisoned for a short time in 1935, 1938 and 1944 because of his political commitment. Rosenberger was assigned to the auxiliary border service during the Second World War.

After the end of the Second World War, Rosenberger was mayor of Deutsch Jahrndorf from 1945 to 1947 and represented the SPÖ in the National Council from December 19, 1945 to December 14, 1962. In 1946 he was the managing chairman of the Austrian Labor Farmers Association-Burgenland and from 1950 its chairman. From 1947 Rosenberger was also second and from 1958 to 1962 third president of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture. In 1954 he was awarded the professional title of Economics Council.
