Paul Schmidt-Tüngler

Paul Friedrich Schmidt-Tüngler (born November 1, 1910 in Cologne , † after 1965) was a German insurance lawyer .

Life

Schmidt-Tüngler studied law and economics and a doctorate in 1934 at age 24 in Cologne Dr. jur. with a thesis on "The insurer's right to higher premiums in the event of innocent breach of the pre-contractual obligation to notify." He then worked for his entire life in the German insurance industry, interrupted from the time he was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1940 until his release from captivity in 1946 .

He was the initiator for the rise of the Kölner Postversicherung VVaG and for the foundation of UNITAS AG and UNITAS GmbH. Because of his services, he was appointed General Manager in 1966 .

Schmidt-Tüngler published numerous articles on insurance issues as well as a book: "The Law of Motor Insurance", which was published several times.
