Paul Schwartz (musician)

Paul Schwartz (* 1956 in New York ) is a music producer, composer, arranger, conductor and pianist. His music can be described as a mixture of chill-out and neo-classical . Its basic elements are singing , piano , violins and electronic sounds . He worked with singers Lisbeth Scott and Rebecca Luker on many of the songs on his albums .

biography

Paul Schwartz is the son of the composer and producer Arthur Schwartz and the actress and dancer Mary Schwartz, he is the half-brother of the American radio star Jonathan Schwartz. He received music lessons at the age of four and began playing the piano at the age of 6.

He moved to London , England at the age of 12 and later studied at the Royal College of Music , where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Conducting. After graduation he worked as a pianist and assistant conductor for musicals in London's West End and as a conductor for Marie Rambert's Ballet Rambert . In 1981 he returned to the United States and became assistant conductor of the Washington National Opera in Washington, DC Afterwards, he was assistant conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra . In addition to these activities, he turned to the musical and worked as musical director for shows such as Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sing & Dance and the Phantom of the Opera . He composed a few pieces for ballets and other stage works and then moved to Astor Place Records as a music producer , where he produced the first CD of the Aria series in 1997 in collaboration with Mario Grigorov , which was released under the label of the Café del Mar compilation. The three CDs in the series achieved considerable success in the field of neo-classical music.
