Paul Simick

Paul Simick (born August 7, 1963 in Gitdubling , Darjeeling , West Bengal ) is an Indian clergyman and Apostolic Vicar of Nepal .

Life

Paul Simick studied at the Morning Star Regional Seminary Barrackpore, Calcutta , and received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Darjeeling on April 9, 1992 . From 1995 to 2000 he studied Biblical Theology in Rome at the Pontifical Urban University , where he obtained a licentiate and was awarded a doctorate theologiae . Upon his return, he taught at Morning Star Seminary and as a pastor. Since 2011 he has been the cathedral priest at the cathedral of the Diocese of Darjeeling.

On April 25, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Nepal and Titular Bishop of Maturba . He received his episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year.
