Paul Wyssling

Paul Raymond Wyssling (born January 5, 1912 - October 30, 1970 ) was a Swiss football referee . The game master gained national recognition through his participation in the world championship finals in 1954 and 1958 . In both tournaments twice in action, he led the game for third place between Austria and the reigning world champion Uruguay on his first World Cup participation , in which Europeans celebrated their greatest success with a 3-1 victory. In qualifying for the 1958 tournament in Sweden, he also led games in the South American qualification. At the same time, he was particularly successful in the European Cup on the international stage. At the 1958 World Cup he was in charge of the quarter-final match between Germany and Yugoslavia (1-0)
