Paula is a corporation founded in 1997, Pop - band from Berlin .
history
Paula was founded by Berend Intelmann and Elke Brauweiler as a German-language electro-pop band, each of which has a French-language title on some albums. Paula's roots lie in the so-called Berlin living room scene , from which other musicians such as Quarks , Barbara Morgenstern and Mia. Emerged. While Paula only consisted of Brauweiler and Intelmann live in the first years of its existence, who, as a pure electro project, handled keyboards and samplers on stage, the band now performed in the traditional line-up with additional musicians on guitar, bass and drums on. In 2005 Intelmann left the band, but continued to work as a producer and composer. Between 2008 and 2013, the band consisted of Elke Brauweiler, who now plays guitar more often, of Daniel Baumann (see also Nachlader ) on bass, guitar and keyboard and Marco Barotti on drums.
In February 2014, Paula released a new album with the original line-up Brauweiler / Intelmann (with Benja Schlez on guitar). A first track on this album ("1987") was previously released in October 2013 as a video on the Internet.
Founding myth

- Intelmann and Brauweiler met at a concert, but not at a Pet Shop Boys concert in London.
- The name "Paula" was not planned for a child together.
