Elke Brauweiler (born in Munich ) is a German singer. She is a member of the band Paula .

Life

Brauweiler has been playing the violin since she was nine and later learned viola and piano, among other things . In 1992 she moved from Offenburg in Baden to Berlin and founded Paula in 1997 with Berend Intelmann . Brauweiler also sang on Global player , the first Commercial Breakup album , which u. a. made famous by the New Order Cover Bizarre Love Triangle . In addition, she recorded duets with Bosse (Novemberregen) and Bernd Begemann (Somehow it works with us) , took part in some pieces by the Berlin band Viktoriapark , took part in setting the poems of Else Lasker-Schüler and composed the theme music for the KI .KA broadcast Au Schwarte! .

Elke Brauweiler published her solo debut Twist a Saint Tropez on October 27, 2006 , which only contains cover versions of French songs (by Serge Gainsbourg and Mylène Farmer, among others ). She herself describes her style of music as "electronic chanson pop". For the Berlin advertising campaign be Berlin , Brauweiler recorded a new version of the Hildegard Knef classic Berlin in 2010 , your face has freckles , with which she performed live as part of the project on the Gendarmenmarkt . The CD single for the song, which was released later, also contains an exclusive version of the Knef chanson Eisblumen , which is not available for download.

Elke Brauweiler and Flemming Borby released the EP "April Come down" together as Montblanc in June 2012.
