Pauliine Koskelo (born June 22, 1956 in Salo ) is a Finnish lawyer and judge at the European Court of Human Rights .

Live and act

After studying law Koskelo 1979 graduated from the University of Helsinki the title Master of Laws . She then worked from 1980 to 1995 in various positions for the Finnish Ministry of Justice. From 1995 to 2000 she held various positions, most recently as Co-Director at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. In 2000 she returned to her homeland as a judge at the Finnish Supreme Court . In 2006 she was elected its president. Since 2008 she has also been a member of the Administrative Board of the Academy of European Law, from 2011 to 21016 she was its president. She was also a member of several legislative advisory bodies to the Finnish Ministry of Justice. In April 2015 she was elected judge at the European Court of Human Rights as the successor to Päivi Hirvelä as representative of Finland . She began her term of office, which is expected to last until the end of 2024, on January 1, 2016.
