Pauline Starke (judoka)

Pauline Starke (born July 31, 1997 ) is a German judoka who competes in the weight class up to 57 kilograms, the lightweight.

Athletic career

Pauline Starke was third in the U18 European Championships in 2014. In 2016 she won the Junior European Championships in Malaga. In 2017, she finished seventh at the U21 World Championships. In 2018 she finished fifth in the U23 European Championships. In 2019 she took third place behind Theresa Stoll and Sappho Coban at the German Championships . After Theresa Stoll had to cancel due to injury, Pauline Starke joined the team for the 2019 European Championships , which were held as part of the 2019 European Games in Minsk. There she lost to Nora Gjakova from Kosovo after two wins at the beginning of the quarterfinals . With a victory in the hope round over Anna Borowska from Poland , Starke reached the battle for a bronze medal and defeated Sappho Coban here. With that she won the only medal for the German judoka in Minsk. 14 days after the European Games, Pauline Starke took seventh place at the Universiade .

Starke competes for the Hanover judo team .
