Pavla Bartáková

Pavla Bartáková (* 1929 ; † 2007 ) was a Czechoslovak handball player .

Life

The outside player took part with the Czechoslovak national team in 1957 in Yugoslavia at the first women's handball world championship and became world champion there. With eleven goals, she was also the tournament's best thrower, making it the first ever World Cup top scorer. At club level she played for Sparta Prague . Bartáková was buried on April 4, 2007 in Olšany (Prague). She had died shortly before at the age of 78.
