Pawe special worda

The Pawe-Spezialworeda is one of the 21 woreda in the Benishangul-Gumuz region within Ethiopia . Together with the Mao Komo special word , it is the only special word in the region. It was created in 1994 to defuse the conflicts between settlers and the Gumuz .

location

It is not located in any administrative zone of Benishangul-Gumuz and therefore does not have the status of a normal woreda . Pawe is bounded by the Metekel Zone to the south and west and the Amhara region to the north and east .

population

According to the central statistics of 2005, the woreda population is estimated at around 50,000. The area is 567.51 km², which results in a population density of just under 88 people per km². The largest towns of Pawe are Almu , Felege Selam and Ketema .
