Pavel Ivanovich Petrenko-Krittschenko , Russian Павел Иванович Петренко-Критченко , mostly Petrenko-Kritschenko quoted (* June 27 . Jul / 9. July  1866 greg. In Kherson , † 21st January 1944 ) was a Russian chemist.

Petrenko-Kritschenko studied chemistry at the New Russian University of Odessa with the degree in 1888. From 1891 to 1893 he was on a study visit to Germany. He then taught at the University of Odessa, from 1903 as a professor.

He dealt with the spatial configuration of organic compounds ( stereochemistry , for example in esterification), chemistry of heterocycles and cyclization reactions. The Petrenko-Krittschenko piperidone synthesis is named after him. Piperidone (the ketone of piperidine ) is synthesized from aldehydes , acetone dicarboxylic acid esters and ammonia (or primary amines) using a double Mannich reaction .

In 1932 he became a corresponding member of the Soviet Academy of Sciences.
