The Pazmany PL-4A is a single-engine, single-seat sport aircraft developed by the Pazmany Aircraft Corporation for do-it-yourself aircraft.

History and construction

The PL-4A first flew in 1972 and is intended to be built by yourself. Therefore only the plans are sold. 686 alone were sold in 1985. The PL-4A is a conventional low-wing aircraft with a closed cabin and fixed tail wheel landing gear . The machine has a T-tail to make folding the wings easier. The model is an all-metal construction, with standard extruded profiles for the spars. The standard power unit is an air-cooled Volkswagen engine with 60 hp (45 kW). The construction time is given as around 1,000–1,500 hours.

The PL-4A won Outstanding New Design and Outstanding Contribution to Low-Cost Fly awards from the Experimental Aircraft Association in 1972 .
