The Peña Lengua is a 912 m high mountain peak in the Montes Obarenes in the extreme northwest of the autonomous region of La Rioja . It towers above Cellorigo, which is about 780 m high .
Ascent
The very rugged limestone mountain is more for climbing specialists. However, there are several hiking trails starting from Cellorigo, one of which leads to the summit, past the remains of a medieval castle ( castillo ).
history
Until the territorial reform of 1834, the mountain belonged to the province of Burgos , i.e. the region of Castile-León .
