Pecora Escarpment is an approximately 11 km long and irregular terrain step in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . It contains the southernmost rock formations of the Pensacola Mountains around 56 km southwest of the Patuxent Range .

It was geodetically surveyed by the United States Geological Survey and with the help of aerial photographs by the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1966. Dwight Smidt, geologist in the Pensacola Mountains from 1962 to 1966, named the step after William Thomas Pecora (1913–1972 ), eighth director of the survey from 1965 to 1971.
