The Pedersen Canal ( French Chenal Pedersen ) is a strait in the Géologie archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It separates the Pétrel Island in the northwest from the Île du Marégraphe , the Rostand Island and the Carrel Island in the southeast.
French scientists named it after Vilhelm Pedersen, who between 1952 and 1966 had been part of the crew of the research vessels Kista Dan , Magga Dan and Thala Dan in various roles .
