Pedro Cersósimo

Pedro Washington Cersósimo (* 1921 in the Department of San José ; † October 12, 1996 ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Pedro Cersósimo was a notary by profession. Cersósimo, who belonged to the Partido Colorado , had in the 40th legislative period as the representative of the Department of San José from February 15, 1967 to March 25, 1969, from May 29, 1969 to June 6, 1969 and from April 17, 1970 to on June 4, 1971 for the Sublema Solidaridad Col y Bat / 99 and 818 held a titular mandate as a member of the Cámara de Representantes . In the two periods of interruption he was Minister of Labor and Social Affairs from March 25, 1969 to May 29, 1969 and Minister of the Interior of Uruguay from June 6, 1969 to April 17, 1970. Finally, from June 3, 1971 to November 4, 1971, he held the post of Minister of Education and Culture. During the period of civil-military dictatorship in Uruguay after the coup in 1973, he was a member of the Consejo de Estado . From 1985 to 1991 he was a member of the Cámara de Senadores for the Sublema Unión Colorada y Batllista . In 1987 he was first vice president of the Senate. In 1989 he chaired the Comisión Permanente del Poder Legislativo . From 1990 to 1995 he was President of the Board of Directors of Banco Hipotecario del Uruguay .
