Pedro Mutindi (born June 30, 1954 in Mutano / Province of Cunene ) is an Angolan politician.

Mutindi left school after completing secondary school to work in the construction industry in Angola and Namibia .

After returning to his country, he was employed as a primary school teacher from 1973 to 1975. In 1974, at the age of 22, he began his political career. He joined the MPLA in Humbe , which he had met through the Angola Combatiente (Fighting Angola) program. For two years he lived as a refugee in Mucope due to a conflict with UNITA .

From this period, when he fought for the ideals and the revolution of Angola, he held various offices within the party and with authorities. In 1977 he was appointed a member of the MPLA Provincial Committee and took part in the commission for the preparation of the first party congress. In 1978 he was appointed parish commissioner of Kahama and a year later he took over the office of provincial commissioner of Cunene . In 1980 he was elected MP and chairman of the Cunene Province People's Assembly. In 1984 he successfully emerged from the election as a member of the People's Assembly. A year later he joined the MPLA Central Committee and in 1990 he became a member of the party's Politburo.

Pedro Mutindi was Governor of the Province of Cunene from 1983 to 2008, during his time in the National Assembly, in which he was extremely popular, as in all of southern Angola.
