The Hoheluftbrücke is a stop of the Hamburg subway - U3 on the northern edge of the district Harvestehude . The stop is at the eponymous Hoheluftbrücke, which leads the Hoheluftchaussee over the Isebek Canal . North of the Isebek Canal, the districts of Hoheluft-Ost and Hoheluft-West are accessed from the stop. The station abbreviation of the operating company Hamburger Hochbahn is "HO". In 2017, around 20,300 boarding and disembarking passengers used the bus stop every day (Monday to Friday).

history

The underground station was opened together with five other stations on the third section ( Kellinghusenstraße to Millerntor, today St. Pauli ) of the ring line on May 25, 1912 and has been extensively modernized several times to this day.

The stop was made barrier-free from January 2017 to May 2018. An elevator was installed, the platform was raised and a guidance system for the blind was provided.

investment

The train station is located south of the transverse street Grindelberg and at the northern end of the street Kaiser-Friedrich-Ufer on a railway embankment . It has a central platform that was extended from 60 to 90 meters in 1926–1928. The station forms the southern starting point for the viaduct route in Isestraße to the Eppendorfer Baum stop .

It is 955 meters to the Eppendorfer Baum stop and 1225 meters to Schlump .

The U5 will one day stop at the Hoheluftbrücke underground station. To this end, another platform is to be built for the new line. A feasibility study by Hamburger Hochbahn, published in February 2019, outlines a variant for its location: The U5 stop could therefore be located under the Hoheluftchaussee about northwest of the current U3 crossing. The U5 systems would be at a depth of 18 meters below the site (based on the upper edge of the rail). The construction of the Hoheluftbrücke road bridge will have to be demolished and rebuilt.

Connection

The Hoheluftbrücke is daytime minute intervals 5-hit in, in the off-peak time in 10-minute intervals and continuous night traffic in front of Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at 20-minute intervals.

There is a transition to Hamburg Metrobus line 5. In addition, the night bus line 604 stops here on working days after the subway closes.
