The Eppendorfer Baum is a stop of the Hamburg subway - U3 in the district Harvestehude on the border district of Hoheluft-Ost . The station abbreviation of the operating company Hamburger Hochbahn is "EP". The stop is used by an average of around 8,000 passengers every day (2014).
history
The underground station was built between 1908 and 1910 and was opened together with five other stations on the third section ( Kellinghusenstraße to Millerntor, today St. Pauli ) of the ring line on May 25, 1912. The surrounding buildings were created at the same time.
The access area was renewed from 1965 to 1967 and the exit was swiveled sideways out of the underpass.

Since its extension in 1926–1929, the central platform of the station on the +1 level has reached the north end over the Isebek Canal . There is only one exit that leads to Eppendorfer Baum , the street that gives it its name to the south . The facility has been barrier-free since April 2014.
The tunnel opening of the KellJung line ( U1 ) in the direction of Jungfernstieg is located on the southeast side of the platform, followed by an overpass structure north of the station so that at the Kellinghusenstraße station it is possible to change between lines U1 and U3 at the same platform .
It is 620 meters to the Kellinghusenstraße stop and 955 meters to the Hoheluftbrücke .
Connection
The Eppendorfer Baum is daytime minute intervals 5-hit in, in the off-peak time in 10-minute intervals and continuous night traffic in front of Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at 20-minute intervals. There is a transition to a city and a night bus line.
