Betty Sedlmayr

Betty Sedlmayr ; actually Barbara Sedlmayr (born December 4, 1904 in Munich ; † June 2004 ; occasionally listed as Betty Sedelmayr ) was a German actress and operetta singer.

Life

Betty Sedlmayr was born as the daughter of foreman Ferdinand Sedlmayr and his wife Katharina. After completing her vocal training , she played her first roles at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. After a guest performance in Bamberg , she was engaged as a soubrette at the Volkstheater Munich . This was followed by stages in Berlin ( Rose Theater , Plaza and Comedy ).

Betty Sedlmayr also appeared in various film productions from 1934, mostly in supporting roles . These included feature films such as Der Student von Prag from 1935 directed by Arthur Robison with Adolf Wohlbrück , Theodor Loos and Dorothea Wieck , 1936 Der Jäger von Fall by Hans Deppe with Paul Richter , Franz Loskarn and Hans Adalbert Schlettow and 1940 The scapegoat also directed by Hans Deppe with Karl Hellmer , Hilde Körber and Ernst Waldow .

After the end of the Second World War , Betty Sedlmayr turned to radio as well as guest appearances at theaters . For the broadcasters RIAS Berlin , Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk (NWDR) and Bayerischer Rundfunk , she appeared in numerous programs. Also in 1949, together with Armin Münch, recordings ( Amiga production ) with songs by Walter Kollo were added.

In 1974 Betty Sedlmayr first appeared in a television production . In the television version of Franz Lehár - operetta The Land of Smiles by Arthur Maria Rabenalt she embodied the role of the general's wife . René Kollo , Birgit Sarata and Dagmar Koller played at her side .

Betty Sedlmayr was married to the actor and operetta singer Hermann Mayer-Falkow .
