Hermann Mayer-Falkow

Hermann Mayer-Falkow (born March 16, 1898 in Strasbourg ; † August 1, 1963 ; also known as Hermann Meyer-Falkow ) was a German actor , theater director and operetta singer .

Life

Hermann Mayer-Falkow was the son of the government councilor Hermann Mayer and his wife Martha. After studying at the Conservatory in Strasbourg and at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main received his first roles at the Neue Operetten-Theater (Frankfurt am Main). It joined engagements at theaters in Remscheid , Herford , Bamberg and the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich on. In 1932 he became administrative director at the Schloßparktheater in Berlin . From 1945 Hermann Mayer-Falkow was a member of the ensemble of the Volksbühne Berlin . For the 1960/1961 season , for example, an appearance in the one-act play The Cozy Commissioner by Georges Courteline in a production by Franz Kutschera is recorded.

From 1928 he worked in various film productions, mostly in supporting roles . These included the entertainment films Die Czardasfürstin by Georg Jacoby with Marta Eggerth and Hans Söhnker and Kora Terry, also directed by Georg Jacoby with Marika Rökk , Will Quadflieg and Josef Sieber . But he also played in the National Socialist propaganda films Spähtrupp Hallgarten and Drei Unteroffiziere , although the latter can only be shown as a reserve film in Germany under strict conditions today. From 1953 Mayer Falkow was in some films of the DEFA as The Invincibles of Arthur Pohl with Willy A. Kleinau , Werner Peters and Erwin Geschonneck and 1956 in the political satire The Captain from Cologne from Slatan Dudow with Rolf Ludwig , Erwin Geschonneck and Christel Bodenstein to see. In 1953, Hermann Mayer-Falkow also spoke in the radio play production of Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk (NWDR) It got dark before the evening with Tilly Lauenstein , Fritz Tillmann and Erich Schellow . He also worked as a voice actor. In 1956 he was heard as a German voice in the production of the Walt Disney Studios Susi und Trolch .

Hermann Mayer-Falkow was married to the actress and operetta singer Betty Sedlmayr .
