Pedro Zibechi , also known as Pedro Zibecchi , (* in the 19th century, † in the 20th century) was a Uruguayan football player .

society

"Perucho" Zibechi, who was used offensively as a left winger ( puntero izquierdo ) on the field , played for the Central Uruguay Railway Cricket Club (CURCC). This was the predecessor club of Club Atlético Peñarol , which emerged from this club in 1914. The times of his association membership are given contradictingly. While Luciano Álvarez reports that Zibechi joined the club in 1905, other sources list his membership in the team from 1904 to 1905, from 1907 to 1910, and from 1912 to 1913. The years 1900 and 1906 are also partly noted for his affiliation. In 1905 and 1907 he and his team were Uruguayan champions. In 1904 (if he was already a member of the club), 1905, 1907, 1909 and 1910 he also won the Copa Competencia with the CURCC . The victory at the Copa de Honor was also recorded in 1907 and 1909. Zibechi was not considered a particularly powerful but dribbling and intelligent player and was a regular at CURCC for almost a decade. In 1915 he joined the competitor Nacional .

National team

Zibechi, whose brother Alfredo "Pelado" Zibechi became Olympic champion in 1924 and who with Armando Zibechi had another national player as a sibling, was a member of the Uruguayan national soccer team . He made his debut in Celeste on August 15, 1906. His fifth and last international match he completed on October 5, 1913. In 1907, he was involved in the Copa Lipton and the Copa Newton . In 1910 he secured victory with the national team at the Copa Lipton, to which he contributed the intermittent goal to 2-0 in the 3-1 ending comparison with the Argentine selection.
