Peggy Langner

Peggy Langner (* 1981/1982) is a former German child actress who as the lead actress in a DEFA - children's film has been known.

Life

Langner grew up near Radeberg . Since her legs were paralyzed from birth, she attended a boarding school for the physically handicapped in Dresden from the age of six. When she was eight years old, she was selected by director Karl Heinz Lotz for the lead role in his children's film I Can Go Backwards . Langner played the physically handicapped Kati, whose parents insist that the girl be admitted to a "normal school" as a student. Kati has to complete a probationary year, meets rejection and ridicule, but also honest friendship. Filming was completed in autumn 1989. The film premiered on January 25, 1990 in Berlin's Kino International . Langner was awarded the Actor Award at the Goldener Spatz children's film festival in 1991 for her performance .

In 1997 Langner finished school with a secondary school certificate. She later studied social pedagogy and has been working in the public service in Dresden ever since. She lives near Radeberg.
