Peirce is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon in the Mare Crisium plain , north of Picard crater and south of Swift . The crater rim is sharply defined and the interior has concentric structures.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the American astronomer Benjamin Peirce .
