Pelecanoides Lakes

The Pelecanoides Lakes are a complex of interconnected lakes on South Georgia in the South Atlantic . They lie on a 150  m high saddle near the base of the Barff Peninsula between Sörling Beach on Cumberland East Bay and Hound Bay .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 2015 after the large number of broad-billed guillemot petrels ( Pelecanoides georgicus ) that have their breeding burrows in this area.
