The Sörling Beach is a great beach on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It lies at the beginning of the Sörling Valley on the southeastern bank of the Cumberland East Bay near the base of the Barff Peninsula .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2002 based on the naming of the valley of the same name. Its namesake is Erik Sörling from the Naturhistoriska riksmuseet in Stockholm , who built the zoological collection on South Georgia there between 1904 and 1905.
