Pelkovenschlössl

The Pelkovenschlössl is a castle complex at Moosacher St.-Martins-Platz 2 in the Munich district of Moosach .

history

It is named after the von Pelkoven family , who were granted lower jurisdiction in 1648 . The Schlössl was built in 1690 by the brothers Veit Adam and Maximilian von Pelkoven as the Hofmarkschloss . Maximilian's son Johann Ernst Kajetan Anton von Pelkoven sold the Hofmark Moosach to the electoral chamber councilor Johann Baptist von Ruffini in 1722 . After further changes of ownership, Klemens Hilger acquired the Schlössl in 1852. He expanded it to include utility rooms and a hall and opened the second Moosach tavern in it, which was known as the "Neuwirt". In 1880 the restaurant business was stopped and from 1890 a gardening shop was operated in the Schlössl.

In 1910 the municipality of Moosach acquired the Schlössl and used it temporarily as a school building. After the completion of the new Moosacher School on Leipziger Straße, it was converted into living space in 1926 and the palace grounds were used as a gardening shop again. In 2001, the Munich city council created the conditions for the renovation of the Schlössl and its use as a cultural and community center . It opened on March 19, 2004 and attracts 30,000 to 35,000 visitors annually.
