Pelonker Hof 3
The third Pelonker Hof (Polish III Dwór ; also Schopenhauerhof ) is a piece of land in Gdansk . It is located in the former Pelonken district of Oliwa, northwest of downtown Gdańsk. The current address is ul. Polanki 122 (until 1945 Pelonker street 122).
history
The oldest mention of the site, which the Oliva monastery gave to Helmich von Twenhusen, is from 1625. The owners were then, among others, the Swedish resident (envoy) Georg Wachschlager, the councilor Simon Georg Bömeln and Heinrich Floris Schopenhauer , the father of the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer , who spent the first five years of his childhood here.
In 1854 there was a water sanatorium here, and since 1868 a children's and orphanage has been housed. From 1953 the area served as a youth and education home within the judiciary.

architecture
One building was built in the 18th century in the classical style, the other in the later 19th century. After that, modifications were made.
More Pelonker Höfe
The Pelonker Höfe were properties that were given to wealthy citizens of Danzig by the Oliva Monastery in the 17th century. Some buildings have been preserved.
