The Penny Lake (English for Pfennigsee ) is a small and circular lake in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It lies sunk in a moraine near the entrance to the Roaring Valley just south of the Walcott Glacier .
The lake got its descriptive name, based on its shape, from participants in a campaign of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions from 1960 to 1961 , who set up camp here.
