Pentti Karvonen
Pentti Karvonen ( Pentti Kalevi Karvonen; born August 15, 1931 in Koivisto, today Primorsk ) is a former Finnish obstacle runner .
Over 3000 m obstacle he was fourth in the European Athletics Championships in 1954 in 8: 55.2 min. On July 1, 1955, he set a world record in Helsinki with 8: 47.8 minutes , which he improved on July 15 in Oslo to 8: 45.4 minutes.
At the Olympic Games in 1960 , he was eliminated in advance.
In 1955 and 1960 he was Finnish champion.
