The Penzliner Lake is located north of Lübz in the municipality Gallin-Kuppentin in the district Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and has an oval shape. The eponymous place Penzlin is located on the west bank of the lake. The east bank of the lake borders on the municipal areas of Barkhagen and Neu Poserin . On the north bank is the "Seeberg" hill ( 65.5 m above sea level ) , which rises almost ten meters above the lake level . The lake is over ten meters deep. The lake is about 1100 meters long and about 500 meters wide.
The Parchim – Neubrandenburg railway runs south of the lake .
