The People Nation is an alliance of different American street gangs , which originally come from the Chicago area . Your opponents are united in the folk nation .

founding

On November 11, 1978, the Gangster Disciples merged with other gangs as the Folk Nation. In the same year the El Rukns (now Black P. Stones ), the Vice Lords and the Latin Kings founded their own alliance, the People Nation, in response.

Jeff Fort of El Rukns, Bobby Gore of the Vice Lords and Gustavo Colon of the Latin Kings played an important role in creating this alliance. Other founding members were the Mickey Cobras , Latin Counts, Bishops, Insane Unknowns, Spanish Lords and later also the Gaylords and the South Side Popes . The hallmarks of gang members are a left earring, a turned up left trouser leg and a baseball cap turned to the left.

Symbols

Gang members demonstrate their affiliation by using certain symbols, sequences of numbers and letters, as well as wearing certain colors and graffiti . In gangs, how clothes are worn also plays a role, such as which half of the body is worn with hats or bandanas . In the People Nation, the corresponding garments are worn to the left.

When the organization shows hands, the arms are folded so that they point to the left. The People Nation continues to use a five-pointed star as a gang symbol. This goes back to the Black P. Stones, which is one of the largest members.

In the alliance, the phrase “high five, six must die” is an allusion to the six-pointed star of the folk nation. There are other phrases that allude to the folk nation, such as "five in the sky, six must die" or "5 poppin, 6 droppin". Turned down pitchforks are used as drawings to provoke the folk nation.

Sayings such as “everything is fine” are used to greet other People Nation gang members. In addition to the five-pointed star, other symbols such as a three-dimensional pyramid, a five-pointed crown and a cube showing a five are used. There is also a crescent moon with its concave side pointing to the right. Sometimes there is also a five-pointed star to the right of the moon.
